Man’s body found in Lake Louise in Banff National Park: RCMP

EDMONTON—RCMP say the body of an adult man has been found in the water of Lake Louise in Banff National Park.
Cpl. Chris Warren said a group of kayakers contacted the Lake Louise RCMP Sunday after they discovered the body in the alpine lake. Officers recovered the body with the help of Lake Louise Fire and Parks Canada.
The Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy this week. RCMP say the investigation is in the preliminary stages and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
Warren said the area where the body was recovered was briefly closed Sunday but is now open.
Lake Louise, which is a popular tourist destination in the Rocky Mountains, draws visitors from around the world because of its cold, turquoise water ringed by mountain peaks.
